SCTE Lake Michigan Chapter Board Elections 2020

Calling all Lake Michigan Chapter Members

2020 is coming to a close and that means it’s nearly time to elect our Chapter’s Board Members for the 2021 to 2022 term.  We are collecting nominations from October 11th 2020 through November 1st 2020.  Anyone wishing to run for a board position or with questions can e-mail any of the Nomination Committee Members (steve.bristol@charter.com, Nathan.list@charter.com, Corey.tutt@charter.com).  Please include a short bio including your history and why you’d like to serve as a board member.  We will then be holding the elections from November 2nd – November 20th.

Lake Michigan Chapter Board Members requirements:

1.       Current dues paying member of SCTE  and any of one of the following:

a.       Employed full, part time, or retired from the cable telecommunications or broadband communications industries

b.       Employed full, part time, or retired from radio or television broadcasting

c.       Employed full, part time, or retired from a field closely allied with one of the above

d.       A member of a regulatory agency or legislative branch of federal, state, regional, or local government concerned with the technical operation of cable telecommunications or broadband communication systems

Lake Michigan Chapter Board Member Duties:

1.       Serve for term of two years commencing in January 2021

2.       Hold meetings at such times and places as it deems proper

3.       Meet a minimum of four times a year

4.       Appoint committees on particular subjects from members of the board or from other members of SCTE

5.       Approve and monitor the annual budget

6.       Print and circulate documents and publish articles

7.       Communicate with the SCTE headquarters, the state cable television association, and other associations interested in matter of concern to SCTE

8.       Safeguard and deal properly with the funds and assets of the organizations, ensuring that an authorized SCTE Headquarters representative is a signatory on all financial accounts

9.       Devise and execute other measures as it deems proper and expedient to promote the purposes and to best protect the interests and welfare of SCTE
